Overview
Although the Exchange ActiveSync protocol provides support for the different features listed above, it is up to the mobile device operating system and manufacturers (OEMs) to build support for these features in their mobile operating system and email apps (default or third-party). Exchange ActiveSync (commonly known as EAS) is a proprietary protocol designed for the synchronization of email, contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes from a messaging server to a smartphone or other mobile devices.The protocol also provides mobile device management and policy controls.The protocol is based on XML.The mobile device communicates over HTTP or HTTPS.
The macOS 10.14.1 SDK provides support for developing apps for Macs running macOS Mojave 10.14.3. The SDK comes bundled with Xcode 10.1 available from the Mac App Store. For information on the compatibility requirements for Xcode 10.1, see Xcode Release Notes.
